Doncic Poised to Become NBA's First $70 Million Player

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is on track to make NBA history with his next supermax extension. He is eligible to sign a five-year, $31.8 million deal if he makes the All-NBA team again this season.

Doncic has already established himself as a superstar, and if he makes the All-NBA team this season, he will be eligible to sign a supermax extension. He is currently under contract for the 2023-24 season, but he will be able to sign the extension starting in the 2026-27 season.

If the salary cap increases as expected, Doncic's supermax deal could be worth up to $83.6 million in the final year.

While there are other players who could be eligible for supermax extensions in the future, none of them have the same track record as Doncic. He has put up numbers that are unmatched in NBA history.

Last season, Doncic became the only player in NBA history to score 9,000 points and dish out 2,500 assists before turning 25. He is also one of only three players to make four All-NBA teams before turning 25, joining Kevin Durant and Tim Duncan.
